Life with a Splash of Winning – Baltimore Bartender Wins a Bundle

Daron Hall and wife Zakia Johnson celebrate the big win at Lottery headquarters.

Hospitality worker claims a $10,000 top prize on 10X Cash scratch-off

Bartender and hospitality worker Da’Ron Hall was all shook up when he set down his cocktail shaker and picked up a lucky 10X Cash scratch-off. He found his Lottery luck on his way home from his shift at a Linthicum-based hotelier.

Hall stopped for a scratch-off at Camp Meade Shell station located at 463 N. Camp Meade Rd. in Linthicum. He told Lottery officials his interest in the ticket was stoked due to a co-worker who had recently won a $10,000 top-prize on the same ticket. When Hall scratched his ticket in the store, the 36-year-old saw something that could make anyone a bit tipsy. The ticket he selected was a $10,000 winner!

The prize was certainly worth celebrating, but Hall kept calm until he reached his car.

“That’s when I broke out my happy dance,” the winner said.

Since he works an evening shift, Hall had to keep the excitement to himself all night long. He hid his ticket away in a shoebox, but didn’t sleep a wink. The next morning, he surprised his wife by casually sliding the ticket over at breakfast.

The tidy sum is the most Hall has ever won with the Lottery and he plans to use his winnings to pay bills and spend some time shopping with his family.

There are still more chances for would-be winners. The 10X Cash scratch-off still has plenty of unclaimed prizes, including 66 $10,000 top prizes, and thousands of others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
