Finds game’s first $10,000 top prize
A top-prize Maryland scratch-off lurking at Glen Burnie Bowl wound up in the hands of a stunned Charlotte Wozniak of Linthicum, who still can’t believe she won the first of the game’s six $10,000 top prizes.
The 79-year-old and her husband Joseph bowl twice a week at Glen Burnie Bowl in Anne Arundel County. The lucky couple plays Maryland Lottery games while at the bowling alley and the $2 Maryland scratch-off is a new favorite. On the day Lottery luck arrived, they bought two Maryland scratch-offs and a random $1 instant ticket. Discovering the $10,000 winning ticket while at the bowling alley led to a strike-worthy celebration.
“We couldn’t even bowl afterward, we were so excited,” Joseph said. They shared the great news with everyone.
Charlotte and Joseph, married for 47 years, are parents of two and grandparents of four. They plan to use their winnings to pay off bills. Look for them twice a week at this lucky Lottery retailer. Glen Burnie Bowl is located at 6322 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie.
