Lucky Keno player finds two big back-to-back prizes
A Sparks woman’s electrifying $10,000 Keno win on a 6-spot bet shows that Maryland Lottery lightning can strike twice in the same place for the same player.
Just last month, the 72-year-old won $1,000 playing Keno. Fast forward to this month and the lucky lady found herself in the Lottery Winner’s Circle after claiming a $10,000 prize! “I had no idea I’d be back here claiming another big prize playing the same game,” she said.
The Baltimore County resident found her fortune at Casa Mia’s Restaurant in Parkton, where she stopped to grab a bite to eat and enjoy a few beers.
“I like eating at Casa Mia’s and playing a few games of Keno because I know the owner there,” she said. “Keno is my favorite Lottery game to play.”
Before leaving the restaurant that day, the loyal Maryland Lottery player decided to check results of a 6-spot Keno ticket she bought on Jan. 11. Her lucky numbers that day were 8, 17, 46, 50, 72 and 74. She had added the Bonus multiplier feature to her five-draw ticket. To her shock, the bartender told her to head straight to Lottery headquarters to cash a $10,000 prize!
The happy winner said she would probably pay off her property taxes with the prize and celebrate with whatever money remained.
Her lucky Baltimore County Lottery retailer is also a winner. For selling a winning Keno ticket of $10,000 or more, Casa Mia’s Restaurant located at 17417 York Road in Parkton earns a $100 bonus from the Lottery. The bonus is equal to 1 percent of the prize.
