Players bought $1 million winning Powerball ticket, $50,000 winning Bonus Match 5 ticket
Congratulations to our two big Saturday night Powerball and Bonus Match 5 winners! Some lucky players bought a $1 million Powerball ticket from Weis Market #062 in Woodstock and a $50,000 Bonus Match 5 ticket from Giant #319 in Rockville for the Saturday, March 28 drawing.
Players in Maryland and Georgia matched five of the winning numbers in the Powerball drawing to capture the $1 million second-tier prize. No one won the Powerball jackpot, which rolls to $50 million for the Wednesday, April 1 drawing with a cash option of $33.4 million.
The lucky Maryland Powerball quick-pick ticket sold at Weis Market located at 10825 Birmingham Way in Woodstock missed only the Power Ball number. Check your ticket to see if it carries the winning numbers of 2, 4, 6, 12, 38; the Power Ball was 17. This $1 million win is the sixth second-tier Maryland Powerball win of 2015.
The Bonus Match 5 win at Giant #319 located at 625 Hungerford Drive in Rockville is the ninth top-prize hit of 2015. The quick-pick ticket carries the winning numbers of 14, 19, 28, 29 and 36; the Bonus Ball was 8.
Lottery officials encourage the winners to sign the back of their ticket immediately and put the ticket in a safe location. The winners have 182 days to claim the prize in person at Lottery headquarters, located at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore.
For selling the second-tier winning Powerball ticket, Weis Market will receive a $2,500 bonus from the Lottery. The Lottery will give Giant a $500 bonus for selling the lucky Bonus Match 5 ticket.
