Lottery Newbie Wins $30,000 on Fifth Ever Lottery Ticket

Beltsville resident claims top prize on FAST PLAY game

A Beltsville man who only began to play Maryland Lottery games a month ago already wound up celebrating his success in the Winner’s Circle! The 27-year-old, who really enjoys playing scratch-offs, found his lucky win with a fun FAST PLAY game called Invaders from the Planet Moolah™. He won an out-of-this world $30,000 fortune!

The Prince George’s County resident visited Giant #107 in Beltsville to look for scratch-offs on the day he connected with Lottery luck. He had only played three Lottery games in the past and decided to try two of the new $3 FAST PLAY Invaders from the Planet Moolah tickets. He had no luck on his fourth Lottery game ever but that fifth ticket carried the $30,000 top prize.

“I was in such disbelief of what I saw that I started shaking,” the winner said. He hasn’t shared the news with anyone yet, but he does plan to tell his mother.

The player recently graduated from college and currently works for a movie theater. He plans to use his winnings for some needed car maintenance and to boost his savings account.

His lucky Lottery retailer, Giant #107, also shares in the fun. The store located at 11701 Beltsville Drive in Prince George’s County will receive a $300 bonus for selling a top-prize winning FAST PLAY ticket of $30,000 or more.

FAST PLAY games play like scratch-offs but without the need to scratch the ticket. This $3 game went on sale in July and each ticket offers five chances to win prizes of $5 to $30,000. The Beltsville resident found the first top prize in the game, leaving another nine top prizes awaiting discovery.
