Lottery Player in Hurlock Starts Weekend With $77,698 Home Run

FAST PLAY Home Run Riches ticket wins progressive jackpot in Dorchester County

The weekend started with a blast for a FAST PLAY Home Run Riches player in Dorchester County who won a $77,698 progressive jackpot on the Home Run Riches game.

The winning ticket was sold April 30 at Shop Stop, located at 300 Broad Street in Hurlock. Home Run Riches went on sale March 8 and has a progressive jackpot that starts at $40,000. The jackpot increases with each ticket sold until a jackpot-winning ticket is sold. This exciting game can make players home-run rich, too, through its familiar Contestant of the Game second-chance promotion.

This was the second of 20 progressive jackpots to be sold in Home Run Riches. The first came on March 26 at St. Mary’s Gas Station in Clements. There are still 18 more progressive jackpots waiting to be hit, along with thousands of additional instant prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.

Lottery officials encourage the winner to sign the back of the ticket immediately and put it in a safe location. FAST PLAY Winners typically get 182 days from the date tickets were purchased to claim prizes. However, the Lottery has temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency.

The winner can claim the prizes by mail, in person by appointment or by dropping off the claim form and winning ticket at Maryland Lottery headquarters, 1800 Washington Blvd., Baltimore. Winners of smaller prizes can claim them by mail, at Lottery retailers, at casinos or by appointment at Lottery headquarters. Get details on how to claim by mail here, how to schedule an appointment here, via the dropbox here (see last paragraph) and at Lottery retailers and casinos here.

The Dorchester County retailer has reason to celebrate as well. Shop Stop will receive a $776 bonus for selling a jackpot-winning FAST PLAY ticket.
