Lottery Scratch-off Delivers $100,000 Birthday Surprise

50-year-old wins top prize on Metal Money Mania game

Metal Money ManiaHappy, happy birthday to a lucky Washington, D.C. man whose Maryland Lottery scratch-off delivered a $100,000 gift just in time for his big 5-0 celebration.

The Montgomery County social worker, who claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore during his birthday week, said winning was a major surprise because he is an occasional scratch-off player. The man had stopped at the High’s in Cooksville to buy gas when he decided to try his luck with a $10 Metal Money Mania scratch ticket. The lucky man scratched the ticket while on site and revealed his $100,000 top-prize win. He told no one!

“I was in disbelief,” the 50-year-old said. He doesn’t play very often and didn’t select the ticket over another for any particular reason. Clearly, he made a wise choice!

Although very excited about his win, the lucky player decided to keep his great news a secret from everyone except two friends. The happy winner will pay bills with his prize and might take a trip to celebrate his win and his birthday.

Want to shop at his lucky store? Visit the High’s #025 located at 2101 Route 97 in Cooksville. For selling the top-prize ticket, the store will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.
