Lottery Win a Welcome Relief for Baltimore Housekeeper

Claims top prize on Neon x10 instant game

205-Neon-x10-ITVMAs soon as the shock of her $50,000 Lottery scratch-off win wore off and she stopped shaking, a 69-year-old Baltimore housekeeper knew exactly how she’d spend her prize – tackling several projects she’d ignored for too many years.

The mother of two can thank her son for selecting the winning Neon x10 scratch-off. “I’d visited my son earlier that day and asked him to get me a couple of tickets from a Lottery store we strolled past,” she said. That lucky store was Bacchus Bar & Liquors in Baltimore City.

“He chose the Neon x10 game and I scratched them later at home,” she said. “When I saw the $50,000 (winner), I must have stared at it for five minutes. I thought to myself, ‘Did I really do it this time?’ ”

Our winner has been so much more relaxed of late that her daughter noticed. “I’ve kept the news to myself, but my kids will see the difference when these projects are behind me,” she told Lottery officials.

The lucky Lottery retailer, Bacchus Bar & Liquors at 1220 West North Avenue, received a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize ticket. The Neon x10 game has four more $50,000 winning tickets and seven $5,000 winners in stores awaiting discovery.

Neon x10 is a $5 scratch-off and part of a family of Neon instant tickets that launched in May. Look for the $10 Neon x20 ticket with a top prize of $100,000, the $2 Neon x5 ticket with a top prize of $10,000 and the $1 Neon x2 ticket with a top prize of $1,000.
