Lucky Baltimore Man Changes His Game, Wins $50,000 Again

Claims top prize on $50,000 Bingo Doubler scratch-off

After winning $50,000 on one Maryland Lottery scratch-off, a Baltimore man decided to change his game to a different type of instant ticket and won another $50,000 prize.

The 78-year-old found his new prize by visiting Harford Marathon located at 2101 Harford Road in Baltimore. Once there, he decided to try the $5 $50,000 Bingo Doubler game.

“It was kind of an accident,” said the winner. “I normally buy the easier scratch-offs like the crossword tickets.” Something sparked his interest in the bingo game, however, which he thought was a more challenging ticket. “I was happily surprised later that evening when I learned that I won.”

His bout with Lottery luck is both exciting and bittersweet, said the winner, who explained that his wife of 61 years passed away recently. He plans to use his Lottery winnings to make some needed home renovations.

Harford Marathon also benefits from the sale of this top-prize winning scratch-off. For selling the instant ticket, the retailer will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery.

The $50,000 Bingo Doubler instant ticket went on sale last September. There are still plenty of prizes remaining, including three more $50,000 top prizes, six $10,000 prizes and more than 500,000 other prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.
