To the 20-yard line, the 10, and TOUCHDOWN! A Baltimore County woman won the first $100,000 top prize on the Ravens X10 scratch-off ticket just in time for the preseason kick-off.
“I was in total shock, as soon as I looked at the ticket I immediately said, ‘Oh this can’t be right this never happens to me!’” she said.
Her winning story unfolded on a recent Saturday afternoon when this lucky Ravens fan stopped at Trotter’s in Baltimore, which is her favorite Maryland Lottery retailer. She noticed the new Ravens X5 and Ravens X10instant tickets that went on sale July 23 and decided, “Why not!” The Parkville resident bought a Ravens X10 instant ticket as well as a few other favorite scratch-offs.
After running some errands, the eager player couldn’t wait any longer to scratch off her instant tickets. Playing each game, one by one, she hoped to find a winner but it was looking like all hope was lost. Then came time to play the Ravens X10 scratch-off and her luck changed for the better.
The 68-year-old always scratches the instant ticket numbers first on her games and then reveals the prize amount if her numbers match a Winning Number. After scratching the Winning Numbers section of the Ravens X10 game and seeing a match, she realized her dream of a big win came true. She won $100,000!
The lucky lady plans to pay some bills with her prize and share some of the win with close family members and friends. Joining the winner in celebration is the retailer. Because Trotter’s sold a top-prize scratch-off of $20,000 or more, the city retailer earns a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery! The bonus is equal to 1 percent of the prize.
