Lucky Weekend Brings Wins of $1 Million and $100,000

Winning tickets sold in Walkersville, Baltimore

The sun was out all weekend, but luck rained down on Maryland Lottery players, delivering a $1 million win in the June 21 Mega Millions drawing, and a $100,000 win in the June 22 Powerball drawing.

The Maryland Lottery is looking for these lucky players! The $1 million Mega Millions ticket was purchased at Sheetz #210 located at 8408 Woodsboro Pike in Walkersville for the Friday, June 21 drawing. The lucky Powerball ticket, which included the Power Play option, carries a $100,000 prize because the multiplier in the drawing was 2x. Liberty Sunoco at 5900 Liberty Road in Baltimore sold the third-tier winning Powerball ticket.

Lottery officials encourage the winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in safe locations. The winners have 182 days from the drawing dates to claim the prizes at Maryland Lottery headquarters at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore.

The Frederick County retailer that sold the winning Mega Millions ticket also has reason to celebrate. Sheetz #210 will receive a $2,500 bonus from the Lottery.

Although no one hit the Mega Millions jackpot, our new millionaire matched five of the winning numbers to capture the second-tier prize. The winning numbers are 13, 30, 36, 48 and 62; the gold Mega Ball was 18. The $1 million winner was one of 11,351 winning tickets sold in Maryland for Friday’s drawing, with prizes ranging from $2 to $1 million.

The Mega Millions jackpot rolls to $60 million for the Tuesday, June 25 drawing with a cash option of $39.2 million. This is the second $1 million winning Mega Millions ticket sold in Maryland in 2019. A Texas man, “Rockville Roller,” claimed a $1 million winning ticket he bought at East Rockville Sunoco in the Feb. 22 drawing. Three $1 million winning tickets were sold in 2018 and one in 2017.

Winning numbers in the June 22 Powerball drawing were 3, 6, 11, 14 and 66; the Powerball was 21. Although no one hit the jackpot, Maryland saw 14,281 players win prizes of $4 to $100,000. The Powerball jackpot rolls to $122 million for the June 26 drawing; the cash option is $80 million.
