Towson man claims $10,000 prize on Metal Money Mania scratch-off
A persistent Maryland Lottery scratch-off player gladly saw his record win of $100 fall by the wayside, replaced by a new record $10,000 win on the Metal Money Mania scratch-off.
The 67-year-old plays Pick 3 and Pick 4 and buys $10 scratch-offs every week. Good fortune came his way while the Towson resident was talking with a friend at Loch Raven Check Cashing in Towson. That retailer, located at 1314 Goucher Boulevard, is where the federal government agency retiree often goes to play Lottery games. His lucky Metal Money Mania ticket lurked among the scratch-offs he selected to play that day.
“I couldn’t believe it was real,” said the Baltimore County man. “I was blown away.”
In fact, he even had his brother check the winning ticket to make sure that it wasn’t fake!
Our winner retired in 2011 after working for the U.S. Social Security Administration for 28 years. He plans to use his winnings for vehicle maintenance and may share some of the prize with his brother. If you’re feeling lucky, there is still one top prize of $100,000 and four $10,000 prizes remaining in the Metal Money Mania game.
