The lucky restaurant employee received a standing ovation in the Lottery Winner’s Lounge as a crowd of Lottery employees helped celebrate his win. The loyal player, who enjoys all of the Lottery’s games, favors scratch-offs and claimed the first top prize on the $20 Instant Millionaire game.

The happy winner and a friend found his Lottery luck when they stopped at the Shoppers #2338 located at 2371 Solomons Island Road in Annapolis. The 46-year-old purchased three Instant Millionaire tickets and scratched them at home before going to work. The last one revealed a win!

At work, the lucky man could not concentrate. “I knew I won, but wasn’t sure how much,” he said. After anxiously going through the evening at work, he checked the ticket at the same Shoppers. The retailer told the player he had won a whopping $1 million!

“I could not stop smiling,” he said.

Our winner took a day to relax and decide what to do with his prize. The El Salvador native has decided he will help family and friends and treat himself to something nice.

His Lottery luck also helps the retailer, who receives a $1,000 bonus for selling the top-prize ticket. There are two more $1 million prizes remaining on this popular game, which has already brought two $50,000 winners and three $10,000 winners to Lottery headquarters.
