Wins $50,000 on Multi-Prize Bingo Scratch-Off
Edward Hannus said luck runs in his family. About eight years ago his mother won $175,000 playing Mega Millions, which was the second-tier prize at that time.
The 69-year-old retired Baltimore County Schools employee came to Lottery Headquarters today to claim his own big win — $50,000 on the Multi-Prize Bingo scratch-off.
“I must have checked that ticket ten times,” said Edward. The lucky Middle River man had won $20 playing the Crossword scratch-off and used some of that money to purchase two Multi-Prize Bingo tickets.
Edward took the tickets home to scratch them and it’s there that he revealed his good fortune. He said he thought he had won $500 with four corners, but after looking a bit harder he realized he had an X. “I still can’t believe what I was seeing,” he said.
Edward intends to use his winnings for dental work and home repairs. “I am going to save the rest, because, in today’s times, you just don’t know when you are going to need it,” he said. The winning ticket was purchased at Carroll Island Amoco, located at 17 Carroll Island Rd. in Baltimore County.
