Advice Helps Baltimore Nurse Win $50,000
While she plays Maryland Lottery games infrequently, a registered nurse from the Gwynn Oak neighborhood of Baltimore almost always listens to her mother. Luckily for her she had lunch with her mom this week and, what makes this story even happier for our nurse, her mom recommended that she play a scratch-off ticket, Gold Rush Doubler, to be precise.
“We scratched our tickets outside in my car,” the winner explained to officials. “I wasn’t quite sure if I’d won so I passed it over to my mom – she’s a Lottery veteran.” A quick look and a sudden silence were quickly followed by mom returning to the store for an official verdict, daughter waiting in the car. “When she came out of the store she had a big smile on her face. I could hear her screaming through closed windows and air conditioning on high.”
The $50,000 win will be enjoyed by the entire family. Sharing her winnings with her mom and helping her many siblings, some of whom have been hard hit by the tough economy, will be her focus.
She will also, of course, continue to heed her mom’s advice as well as try a Lottery ticket every once in a while. Lottery luck struck this time at Security Blvd. Liquors, 6628 Security Boulevard in Baltimore.
