Birthday gift of 10x Cash scratch-off delivers a win
A Glen Burnie man can thank his lucky mom for helping him win his second Maryland Lottery prize in a row.
The 30-year-old recently saw his luck improve dramatically. “Just this past December, I won about $1,000 playing Multi-Match,” he said. “I never thought I’d be here (Lottery Headquarters) the very next month cashing in a $10,000 scratch-off ticket.”
He and his mom are a winning Lottery team. With his upcoming birthday in mind, she bought him a few 10x Cash instant tickets from Chesapeake Liquors located at 6720 Governor Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie.
“After I started scratching the one ticket, I noticed that I had won $1,000, then another $1,000 and another,” he said with a big grin on his face. “I was so shocked that I had won again and so close to my birthday that I almost lost my breakfast.”
He told Lottery officials that he likes playing every now and then because he and his mom work together to try to win. “Sometimes if we win, it makes me feel like we are a dynamic duo,” he said. “She’ll do the research of a particular ticket online and I’ll scratch them.”
The lucky player plans to put most of the prize in the bank after buying a newer car and giving some of the windfall to his mom. The popular 10X Cash scratch-off started off with 85 top-tier prizes less than a year ago and now has four $10,000 prize-winning tickets remaining.
