Montgomery County Man Ends 2018 with $100,000 Win

A Montgomery Village man will have an extra pep in his step as he rings in the new year, thanks to a $100,000 top-prize winning Diamond 10s scratch-off ticket.

The 35-year-old warehouse worker enjoys playing $10 Maryland Lottery scratch-offs. While at the 7-Eleven in Clarksburg on Dec. 30, he decided to purchase one Diamond 10s ticket, and scratched it while he was still in the store.

“When I saw that I won, I took the ticket and went right out to my car,” the excited winner told Lottery officials.

The big win came at the perfect time. The winner is soon going to settlement on a new house, and can now use some of his winnings toward that purchase.

The lucky 7-Eleven store at 12101 Snowden Farm Parkway in Clarksburg also wins. For selling the winning ticket top-prize scratch-off, the store will receive a $1,000 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize total. The Diamond 10s game still has three $100,000 top-prizes remaining, along with thousands of prizes between $10 and $10,000.
