Claims $50,000 prize in Nov. 11 drawing
A Bethesda man who played the odds and bought a $2 quick-pick Powerball ticket became the only Marylander to win big two days later in the Nov. 11 drawing.
The 57-year-old recently claimed his third-tier prize, becoming one of 12 people in the country to win $50,000 in the drawing. He matched four numbers plus the Powerball.
The Montgomery County resident bought his winning ticket at Auburn Exxon located at 7975 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. The Lottery retailer is also enjoying a lucky year. The business also sold a $50,000 winning 20X The Cash scratch-off, a $20,200 winning 2020 Cash instant ticket and a $20,000 winning Money Multiplier scratch-off in 2020.
No one hit the jackpot in the Nov. 11 drawing or in the drawings that followed. Players can now try to win a $243 million jackpot in the Saturday, Dec. 5 drawing. The cash option is $189.4 million.
