Morning Cup of Joe Leads Man to Lottery Fortune

Baltimore City resident claims $50,000 prize on $1 Million Fortune scratch-off

158-$1-Million-Fortune-ITVM_P1-AquaA Baltimore man got an extra eye-opening jolt one recent morning on his way to work when he stopped at the Wise Avenue 7-Eleven for his morning cup of Joe. When he reached the cash register, he spotted Maryland Lottery scratch-offs and bought the first $20 instant ticket he saw.

What a shock! The sight of that $20 $1 Million Fortune ticket in his hand jolted him wide awake when he realized he held a $50,000 winning scratch-off.

“When I saw that I won, I just froze,” said the father of two. He called his wife of 19 years to share the great news and she was equally astonished.

Visiting the Lottery’s Winner’s Lounge isn’t a new experience for the 38-year-old. The lucky player won two big prizes totaling $55,000 combined about 10 years ago. He also knows his way around a playslip, being an avid Pick 3/Pick 4 player.

The self-employed construction contractor plans to save most of his winnings because he and his family already have vacation plans. He does plan to buy his son a new car and will have plenty left for more coffee purchases!
