‘Mr. and Mrs. Raven’ Feathering Nest with $50,000 Lottery Surprise

“Mr. and Mrs. Raven” of Clarksville celebrate their $50,000 Bingo Plus scratch-off win.

Howard County couple claim Bingo Plus game’s top prize

A Howard County couple who dubbed themselves “Mr. and Mrs. Raven” plan to spruce up their new nest with a $50,000 birthday party surprise. The couple’s bingo-themed birthday party led to a top-prize winning Maryland Lottery scratch-off landing in “Mrs. Raven’s” hands.

“We all played bingo at the birthday party and I bought some Bingo Plus scratch-offs to give out as well,” said the husband.

When it came time for “Mrs. Raven” to scratch off her instant ticket, the Clarksville resident had no luck – at first. Then, she played the last of the six bingo cards on her scratch-off and saw four numbers form the plus sign that landed her the game’s $50,000 top prize. “I yelled in excitement and just collapsed to the ground I was so ecstatic,” said the 34-year-old.

Her big win comes at a great time for the new homeowners, who plan to use some of the winnings for their new house. They also plan to put some of the prize toward their daughter’s college fund.

“Mr. Raven” purchased the lucky Bingo Plus instant ticket at Patapsco Village Liquors, where he works. The Baltimore business located at 3434 Annapolis Road earned a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize scratch-off in the $5 game.

Bingo Plus still has lots of winning scratch-offs remaining, including five with $50,000 prizes, nine with $10,000 prizes and thousands of others ranging from $5 to $5,000. The game went on sale last fall.
