Laurel man claims $10,000 prize on Hit it Big game
A Laurel man who enjoys playing the Maryland Lottery’s Hit it Big scratch-off just hit big with the $20 game, which previously delivered several small wins to the happy player. This time, his $10,000 prize was so large the nail salon worker had to make a trip to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim it.
The 34-year-old father of one found his lucky instant ticket at Cipriano Square Liquors & Deli located at 8861 Greenbelt Road in Greenbelt. He often scratches his tickets in the store and this time made quite a racket. When he realized the size of his win, the Prince George’s County resident celebrated by clapping and shouting, he said with a smile.
The lucky player plans to take a vacation to enjoy his prize.
The Hit it Big game, which arrived in Maryland stores in June, still has more than 63,000 prizes remaining including a $1 million top prize, a $50,000 second-tier prize and 10 more $10,000 prizes.
