Wins $100,000 Playing Fast Cash
Steven Riddle only plays Lottery games when the spirit strikes him. Well, a visit by that spirit last week coincided with a coffee stop and together they produced a $100,000 top-prize scratch-off win.
“My dad stopped for coffee and I went in the store with him,” Steven told officials. His father, a frequent player, pointed out a brand new instant game, Fast Cash. “I just decided to try it – I can’t tell you why.” As the 27-year-old scratched his ticket in the store, he quickly realized that something special was happening as more and more of the winning symbols were showing up. “To say that I couldn’t believe my eyes is an understatement. My knees buckled, I felt like I was about to pass out.” Steven’s father, upon learning the news, made sure everyone in the store (maybe in the entire neighborhood) knew what was happening. “There was a bit of yelling.”
Steven, a movie theater employee, plans to get a new car for Christmas and invest the remainder of his winnings. He’ll also be paying for his dad’s coffee for a while. Fast Cash luck found Steven at the 7-11 convenience store at 785 Rockville Pike in Rockville. The lucky game, which arrived in stores earlier this month, still has four $100,000 prizes available.
