Cumberland store sells big winner in 50x The Cash game
A trio of scratch-off loving New York residents who were visiting a friend in Western Maryland returned home $50,000 richer, thanks to a 50x The Cash scratch-off ticket.
That winning instant game was among “a bunch” of tickets selected by the Brooklyn couple and their friend, who often play scratch-offs in their home state. The husband discovered the big win on the $10 game as he stood outside the lucky Lottery retailer, which was Martin’s #6297 located at 12101 Winchester Road in Cumberland. None of the passersby knew a $50,000 Lottery winner stood in their midst.
“He stayed very quiet,” his wife said, as the trio relaxed at Lottery headquarters after making the trip from Allegany County to Baltimore to claim the prize.
The 30-year-old winner, who is a father of two, plans to put his big win in the bank.
The 50x The Cash game has two unclaimed $100,000 top prizes and four more $50,000 prizes, in addition to thousands of other prizes ranging from $10 to $10,000. A member of the Lottery’s multiplier family of scratch-off games, the 50x The Cash game is joined by 5x The Cash, 10x The Cash, 20x The Cash and 100x The Cash scratch-offs.
