Multi-state game to offer nightly chance to win $1,000 a day for life
Starting today, July 1, drawings will be held every night for the Maryland Lottery game where top-tier winners receive $1,000 every day. Cash4Life, which has a top prize of $1,000 a day for life and a second-tier prize of $1,000 a week for life, expanded from two drawings per week to seven. Tickets cost $2.
Drawings have been conducted Monday and Thursday of each week, but beginning today, Monday, July 1, drawings are at 9 p.m. every night. The last of the Monday-Thursday drawings was June 27.
Maryland is one of nine states participating in Cash4Life and joined the group starting with the Jan. 28, 2016 drawing. The other participating states are Florida, Georgia, Indiana, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia.
Cash4Life was established in 2014 by the lotteries in New Jersey and New York, and drawings are conducted at New Jersey Lottery Headquarters in Trenton, NJ. Drawings can be viewed live on the Maryland Lottery website. Past drawings can be accessed at the same page.
In addition to the top-tier and second-tier prizes, there are seven other prize tiers ranging from $2 to $2,500.
