No Cruise This Time, But Lots of Cash

Washington, D.C. Woman Wins $50,000

Ina Hunter admitted to Lottery officials today that, while she rarely plays, something told her that today was a good time to try.  Whatever it was that prompted that lucky feeling, it did not steer her wrong as she became the first to win the $50,000 top prize playing the Lottery’s newest scratch-off, Cruise for Cash.

The security guard at the National Museum of Art in the nation’s capitol scratched her ticket on a break this morning.  She saw immediately that she’d won, and her first thoughts were of her sister.  “She’s been having a real rough time recently, lots of medical problems,” she told officials.

Ina said, “I made a promise to myself a while back that if I ever got real lucky, I’d help my family – especially my sister.”  This win will allow her to do just that with some left over for some new furniture that she and her husband had been eyeing.  Ina’s good luck found her at Mead’s Liquors, 5102 Indian Head Highway in Oxon Hill.

The Cruise for Cash instant game, which debuted this week, features instant cash prizes up to $50,000, as well as instant and second-chance luxury cruise vacations for two.  As the ticket is brand new, the great majority of the prizes are still available.
