Owings Mills Woman Cleans Up on Crossword Scratch-off Game

Wins top prize on $100,000 Crossword scratch-off

A Baltimore County woman might have been at a loss for words after using them all to win big on a $100,000 Crossword scratch-off from the Maryland Lottery. Her $10 “play on words” matched up for a $100,000 top prize when the 25-year-old assembled 10 words from the letters supplied on her scratch-off.

She purchased her lucky instant ticket last Friday from Xpress Mart in Pikesville and scratched it off at home.

As the Owings Mills resident examined the puzzles in the game, she saw matching words continue to appear until the part-time cleaner amassed the game’s top prize. The win, which featured several four-letter words, may have inspired a few four-letter exclamations as the reality and excitement of the win set in.

“This is mucho money,” she said, describing the hefty haul to Lottery officials.

The winner plans to use her lucky funds to purchase a house.

Xpress Mart is also cheering the win. The store located at 200 Reisterstown Road will earn a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling a winning scratch-off prize over $100,000.

Crossword scratch-off fans can find plenty of wins remaining in the game, which arrived in stores in November. Five $100,000 top prizes remain along with 11 unclaimed $10,000 prizes and thousands of others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
