Parsonsburg Resident Relishes Keno Tripler Win

Sprinkler promotion pays $18,000 to Wicomico County man

A father of four from Parsonsburg was counting his blessings even before Lottery luck entered his life on July 18. He and his wife have been married 26 years and their oldest child is finishing up medical school.

The loyal Keno player matched all five numbers – 10, 18, 28, 58 and 68 – on his $15 5 Spot Super Bonus ticket. A 4x Super Bonus multiplier and a Tripler message on the top of his ticket ballooned the amount of his prize to $18,000!

His tripled prize is part of the Maryland Lottery’s Keno Sprinkler promotion. Through Aug. 2, the Lottery is doubling and tripling prizes up to $100,000 on winning Keno tickets. Watch for the Doubler or Tripler message on the top of your Keno ticket to see if it will boost your win, too. The lucky father from Wicomico County won his largest Lottery prize, courtesy of Keno Sprinkler.

“I’ve never won this much before … I won $2,000 or $3,000 maybe a month ago,” the 56-year-old said. Keno is the only Lottery game he plays. “I like it because you get the results right away and the house pays out a lot of money.”

The lucky man wasn’t immediately sure how much money he had won. He took the ticket to a local retailer, who told him the prize was so large he had to go to Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim it.

He and his wife have lived in Parsonsburg for five years, but are thinking of moving to New York, where their oldest child lives. They may use $5,000 of the prize as part of a down payment on a house there. The winner also plans to pay bills with his prize.

He bought the lucky ticket at Parsonsburg Quick Stop located at 7181 Parsonsburg Road in Parsonsburg. The retailer is a winner as well, collecting a $180 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling a winning ticket over $10,000.
