Powerball Drawing Creates New Maryland Millionaire

Winning ticket purchased in Crofton

We have a new Powerball millionaire! A lucky Lottery player bought a $1 million winning ticket in the Wednesday, Nov. 13 drawing from 7-Eleven #11534 in Crofton. The winner only missed the right to claim the $60 million jackpot by one ball!

The winning numbers to match were 23, 26, 27, 28, 66; and the Power Ball was 11. The $1 million ticket sold in Crofton matched the first five numbers, but did not match the Power Ball number. Lottery officials encourage our new millionaire to sign the back of the lucky ticket immediately and put it in a safe location. The winner has 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim the big prize in person at Lottery headquarters, located at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore.

Check your tickets closely because even though no one in Maryland hit the jackpot, there were a total of 10,554 winning Powerball tickets sold statewide for the Nov. 13 drawing. Powerball has nine different prize levels ranging from $4 to the jackpot. Congrats to all of our winners!

The Powerball jackpot rolled to $70 million for the Saturday, Nov. 16 drawing with a cash option of $47 million.

This is Maryland’s third $1 million Powerball win of 2019. A Clear Spring man bought a $1 million winning ticket at Dual Highway BP in Hagerstown for the Feb. 20 drawing; and a Newburg man bought a $1 million winning ticket at Ole McDonnell’s Country Store in Newburg for the March 9 drawing. In 2018, Maryland had one $1 million Powerball winner, and in 2017 the state had two $1 million Powerball winners.

Maryland is home to two Powerball jackpot wins: $128.8 million in December 2011 (Elkton, Cecil County) and $108.8 million in September 2011 (Abingdon, Harford County).

For selling the ticket, the 7-Eleven store located at 2129 Defense Highway in Crofton earns a $2,500 bonus from the Lottery.

Even if you aren’t Maryland’s newest millionaire, check your tickets. This year, in addition to Maryland’s $1 million Powerball winners, the state has had 45 third-tier $50,000 winners. Nationally, our player is the only one who bought a $1 million winning ticket for the Nov .13 drawing. Across the country, the Nov. 13 drawing produced 10 winners of $50,000 and 419,282 total winning tickets. Powerball tickets are sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets cost $2 each.

Watch televised Powerball drawings at 11:22 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays on WBAL-TV. Winning numbers are available at mdlottery.com and on your smartphone by downloading the free MD Lottery app.
