Powerball Dreams Come True for Carroll County Man

Wins $10,000 Third-Tier Prize

PowerballEach day, an Eldersburg man follows the same routine: He goes to the grocery store to buy a few items and Powerball tickets.  On Wednesday, his daily trip was anything but routine, when one of his Powerball tickets paid off with a third-tier $10,000 prize.

The retired state employee watched the drawing on Wednesday night, and then verified the numbers on the Lottery’s website the next morning.

“I always thought that the Lottery sure changed a lot of people’s lives.  Until you win, all you can do is dream about what you would do if you won,” the winner said.  “Anyone that says $10,000 isn’t enough – they don’t live where I live,” the 65–year-old winner said.

The winner plans to use his Powerball winnings for home improvements. The winner and his wife of 37 years love to travel and may also use the prize to take a vacation. The winning ticket was purchased at Martin’s #307 on Londontown Blvd. in Eldersburg.
