Prince Georges County Man Wins for the 2nd Time

Takes home second-tier Mega Millions prize of $250,000

Lightning struck twice for a 57-year-old Prince George’s County man while playing the Lottery.  The lucky winner is certainly no stranger to winning after taking home $100,000 playing Keno five years ago. This time he was back at Lottery headquarters to claim a second-tier $250,000 Mega Millions prize.

The winner, who works in security, matched every number in Tuesday evening’s drawing shy of the Mega Ball. Despite missing the jackpot by one number, he credits his win to using the quick-pick feature. “It seems like I always win when I let the machine pick my numbers for me,” he said.

The security guard is looking forward to paying off some more medical bills that his first win didn’t cover. “I feel blessed,” he said reflecting on his win. “The first time I won, I had just gotten out of the hospital, so most of that money went to family and medical bills.”

He told Lottery officials that he will continue to help his family, pay a few more medical bills, and donate to a local church that helps the homeless. The winning ticket was purchased at George Liquors on Bladensburg Road in Brentwood, MD.
