Takes home prize on $2,000,000 Fortune ticket
A Brandywine woman is now $50,000 richer, thanks to a $2,000,000 Fortune scratch-off purchased at a Wawa in Prince George’s County.
The avid Lottery player had just decided that day to try the Maryland Lottery’s new $30 scratch-off for the first time. The 35-year-old had won her scratch-off money back earlier in the day, so she decided to try her luck with another instant ticket. She took it to her car to scratch and that’s when she revealed the big win.
“I kept thinking it was a $5,000 prize,” she told Lottery officials. “Then, I saw there was another zero. I was so excited.”
The winner said she wasn’t sure what she would do with the prize, but that she would probably pay some bills. She found her lucky scratch-off at Wawa #580 located at 16410 McKendree Road in Brandywine.
The $2,000,000 Fortune game is Maryland’s first $30 scratch-off. The game launched on Feb. 27 and has four remaining $2 million top prizes. In addition, there are 14 prizes of $50,000 still unclaimed along with thousands of others ranging from $30 to $500.
