Claims top prize in March 30 Bonus Match 5 drawing
An office manager for a local doctor’s office received a sure cure for her case of Maryland Lottery “winning-itis.” Kisha Bell of Baltimore bought a ticket for the March 30 Bonus Match 5 drawing and her “condition” improved dramatically!
The lucky 43-year-old matched all six of her quick-pick numbers, winning the game’s $50,000 top prize.
Kisha reports having some luck with the game, but no big wins since her lucky numbers appeared several years ago on a night she didn’t buy a ticket! The faithful Bonus Match 5 player was watching television Saturday when something unbelievable happened – her lucky numbers appeared on the screen. She could hardly believe her eyes, especially since she had come so close to winning once before.
Kisha rushed to visit her aunt to see if she could confirm the top-prize win. “We call her ‘the Calculator,’ ” Kisha said. “Figuring these things out is her Lottery super power!” Even after her aunt pronounced the ticket a winner, Kisha couldn’t relax. The weekend dragged as she waited for Lottery headquarters to reopen Monday morning so she could claim her prize.
“It was too long,” said the happy winner. She explained to Lottery officials that she hadn’t slept much all weekend and her nervous energy from holding onto the valuable ticket had grown steadily.
Her long-awaited Bonus Match 5 prize will go to pay bills and then, possibly, finance an exciting Vegas vacation.
She found her winning ticket at Carlton’s Liquors located at 1900 West North Avenue in Baltimore. The lucky city retailer will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize ticket in the game.
