Racetrax Horses Give Patient Player a $29,109 Win

Lucky Catonsville man claims prize on Superfecta wager

A Baltimore County Racetrax fan who favors Superfecta bets pulled four numbers “out of the air” about six months ago. He has played them ever since, hoping for a big win. The retiree’s patience and persistence paid off this month when a 10-draw ticket delivered a $29,109 prize!

The Catonsville resident bought the lucky ticket from a Lottery vending machine at Dimitri’s International Grille & Family Sports Bar in Baltimore. His horses were numbers 8, 11, 2 and 7. He took the ticket home and was with his wife when he decided to check the ticket.

“She was sitting next to me on the sofa and I said, ‘I got it!’” the winner recalled. His wife wasn’t sure what he meant. “She said, ‘Got what?’” and that’s when he delivered his great news. “He did a jig,” she said, laughing, as the two told the story of their winning discovery.

The 75-year-old father of one plans to pay bills with his prize and said he might install new carpet and make other home improvements.

Also a winner is his lucky retailer. Dimitri’s International Grille & Family Sports Bar at 2205 Frederick Rd. in Catonsville earns a $291.09 bonus from the Lottery for selling a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more.
