Baltimore County handicapper wins over $40,000 on three $1 bets
Weeks before the 145th Kentucky Derby started the famous race to the Triple Crown, a Baltimore-area Racetrax enthusiast by the alias of “Super Social Worker” won a Triple Crown of her own.
“Super Social Worker” placed three Trifecta bets for 20 drawings each at different times on April 26. She won a total of $41,948! The 12, 8 and 10 horses won $14,640 on two tickets while the 7, 10 and 12 horses brought home a $12,668 prize.
“It’s been a good year,” said the Windsor Mill resident. “Super Social Worker” plays Racetrax exclusively several times a week while her spouse plays a variety of Lottery games. “My husband plays Keno, Bonus Match 5, Mega Millions and Powerball,” she said, “but this is my game.”
The 47-year-old is hoping for another big win. She wants to conquer her fear of flying so she can take her family to her dream vacation destination: Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
“I plan to use some of the money from this win to pay for my son’s college fees,” said the mother of two. “The rest will be split into a savings account to continue playing Racetrax. When I hit it big, I will start making plans for a nice family vacation.”
Also in the Winner’s Circle is the lucky Lottery retailer. Woodlawn Shell located at 6600 Security Boulevard in Baltimore earns a total bonus of $419.48 from the Lottery for selling three winning Racetrax tickets over $10,000. The bonus is equal to 1 percent of the prize.
