Racetrax Regular Claims Fifth Big Prize

A familiar Racetrax player stopped by Maryland Lottery headquarters on Wednesday afternoon with a winner of a smile. Paul McDonald of Bowie sauntered into the Winner’s Circle after claiming a $16,160 prize on yet another winning Racetrax ticket.

The 48-year-old is no stranger to the applause that greeted him, as this marks his fifth time celebrating a big win with the Lottery staff!

When it comes to Lottery games, Paul only plays Racetrax. Last year, the lucky man won a $194,188 prize, which is the third largest in the state’s Racetrax history! “My friends all tell me that I need to teach a Racetrax class and show everyone how to play,” Paul said.

The fan of the horse racing game confesses that he has no special process for picking his pixelated ponies. He prefers to bet his money on the long-odds horses that have a higher payoff. Aside from this caveat, Paul just goes with the “special feeling” in his gut when placing bets. His routine is certainly working!

This time around, Paul placed a Superfecta Box bet with the Bonus multiplier option on the numbers of 1, 4, 7, and 11 to win the $16,160 prize.

Paul always plays Racetrax at his favorite hangout, the Corner Lounge at 105 Crain Highway in Upper Marlboro. For selling a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more, the Lottery retailer will receive a bonus of $161.60! This is equal to 1 percent of the prize.
