Racetrax Rookie Wins $51,606 Superfecta Prize

Owings Mills man finds big prize one week after trying Racetrax for the first time

An avid Pick 3 and Pick 4 player decided to jump on the saddle and try his luck with Racetrax. Just last week, the father of three played the monitor game for the first time. Fast forward to this week and the rookie walked away with a $51,606 prize after purchasing a ticket at the 7-Eleven in Pikesville.

The Owings Mills man told Lottery officials that he used the previous evening’s winning Pick 4 numbers on his Racetrax game.

“I’m a superstitious person and I just had a feeling,” said the 34-year-old, who was grinning from ear to ear while claiming the prize.

The happy winner’s ticket was for 20 games with the Bonus multiplier added. He took the ticket with him after purchasing it and checked his races later. The second to last race on his ticket produced a perfect finish-line crossing by his horses — 7, 4, 5 and 8 — in exact order. A 3X bonus on the race jumped the prize to $51,606.

The lucky player, who works at a Baltimore hotel, has big plans for his winnings. He’s going to make sure his kids have the best Christmas ever and plans to invest the rest.

The 7-Eleven that sold the winning ticket is located at 1801 Reisterstown Road in Pikesville. The retailer, store #17118, earns a bonus of $516.06 from the Lottery for selling a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more. The bonus is equal to 1 percent of the prize.
