Hyattsville man’s horse picks in Maryland Lottery game reach perfection
Avid Maryland Lottery Racetrax player Roberto Alejandre Sandoval sure knows how to play the e-ponies! The Hyattsville man studies Racetrax horses’ performance statistics before placing bets on the game and, on June 11, saw his ability to pick a winner reach perfection.
The chauffeur placed a Superfecta Wheel bet on two races, picking the 3, 10, 8, 9 and 6 horses to cross the finish line first. With this new type of bet introduced this spring, a player selects at least five horses to finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in exact order. Good luck and Roberto’s process for picking winning horses led to a $28,951 win.
“When I saw it, I couldn’t believe it,” the 62-year-old said. The married father of two hasn’t decided yet how he will spend his winnings. Possibilities include investing the money, starting a business and visiting his son, who is away at college. The Prince George’s County resident bought his winning Racetrax ticket at Langley Park Beer & Wine located at 1401 University Blvd in Hyattsville.
