Prince George’s County Man Claims Top Prize
Three down, three to go. The Lottery’s popular Ravens Cash Fantasy scratch-off delivered the third of its six $250,000 top-prize wins today, when a man from Clinton visited the claim center with his family. The winner, a life-long Redskins fan, didn’t seem to mind the new Ravens connection that his win brings.
Asa Daniels purchased his lucky ticket during a shopping trip on Tuesday. He scratched it, checked his numbers, and then paused and checked them again. Asa’s glasses were at home so he was sure that the win he thought he saw was a mistake. With ticket in pocket, he went back to shopping. It wasn’t until he was home with his glasses, and with his wife and daughter to confirm, that Mr. Daniels finally believed that Lottery luck had truly found him.
The 71-year-old retired mechanic plans to share his winnings with his family – after, that is, he and his wife enjoy a nice vacation. While he’ll remain true to his Redskins, Asa admitted to officials that, thanks to Ravens Cash Fantasy, he’ll keep a good thought for the Baltimore team on Sundays. The $250,000 winner was purchased at Noah’s Supermarket, located at 7601 Old Branch Avenue in Clinton.
This is the third installment of the $5 Ravens Cash Fantasy ticket from the Maryland Lottery. Unlike previous years, this year’s ticket offers a $250,000 top prize and a chance to win $1 million
in the Internet promotion. Just like the previous two years, each ticket features a perforated portion with a special “EXTRA YARDS” code that players can enter on mdlottery.com/ravens. Players who enter their “EXTRA YARDS” codes on the Maryland Lottery’s website will have the opportunity to win premium prizes that include season tickets for 20 years, travel with the team to an away game, an entire skybox for one game and numerous other Ravens-themed prizes.
