Ravens X10 Scratch-off Brings Big Win for Pennsylvania Player

Lucky lady crosses state line to win $50,000

Winner - Shelly Barnhouse

Baltimore Ravens fan Shelly Barnhouse of Pennsylvania crossed the state line for a $50,000 touchdown win with the $5 Ravens X10 scratch-off!

Decked out in her Baltimore Ravens T-shirt, Shelly Barnhouse eagerly claimed a $50,000 Maryland Lottery prize she scored playing the Ravens X10 scratch-off. The Littlestown, Pa. resident did not intend to play that scratch-off until she discovered two Westminster stores didn’t have her regular $3 game. Is she ever glad she settled on the $5 Ravens X10 game!

The 49-year-old normally plays $3 scratch-offs. Shelly first tried to buy a $3 game she’s played a few times but the High’s and 7-Eleven were sold out.

“So, I said, ‘Just give me one of those Ravens tickets,’ ” she told Lottery officials after claiming her prize. “I’m a big Ravens fan and I don’t even know why I never played this ticket before.”

Shelly sat in the car with her boyfriend to scratch off the game. She immediately knew it was a winner and began to scream. Her boyfriend, who is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, doubted her win but the Ravens X10 game pulled it off for the Ravens football fan.

“I knew it was a winner, because I play scratch-offs,” said Shelly. “When I went back in the store to confirm it, everyone was happy and clapping for me.”

Still in shock, the winner called her parents to share the great news and then drove to Lottery headquarters. The happy woman entered the Winner’s Circle not even realizing she was wearing a Ravens T-shirt. “I just happen to have on this shirt today,” she said, smiling. “Maybe it brought me luck.”

Shelly plans to give some of the winnings to her parents, who helped her financially when she was in need, and use some of the prize to get an apartment. She will save the rest of her big win.

The lucky Carroll County Lottery retailer where Shelly found her winning ticket is 7-Eleven #24347 located at 353 Baltimore Boulevard in Westminster. Lottery retailers around the state are stocked with the Lottery’s two Ravens multiplier games. Shelly found the game’s second-tier prize; there are still two $100,000 top prizes and three more $50,000 prizes in the Ravens X10 game.
