The lucky player purchased his instant ticket to a mega win after returning a crime thriller movie to a DVD movie rental vending machine.

The 73-year-old arrived at the store with the movie rental vending machine planning to purchase a ticket for the upcoming Powerball drawing. Because the store was crowded, he opted to make his Lottery purchase at Food Lion grocery #800 located at 817 Snow Hill Road in Salisbury. The retired law enforcement professional joined the store’s Lottery line and became interested in the player ahead of him. That player had purchased several instant tickets and won a small amount on the 10x Cash scratch-off.

Having a hunch that he should try that game, the lucky Wicomico County resident did so and scratched off his instant ticket in the store. His pulse quickened when he revealed a 10x symbol next to a $1,000 prize, which gave him his $10,000 win.

The happy man reports that this is his largest Lottery win to date. He plans to use the funds to celebrate an upcoming 50th anniversary by taking a long-awaited Caribbean cruise vacation.

The popular 10x Cash game still has 100 top prizes of $10,000 waiting to be found as well as 54 $1,000 prizes and more than 1,000 $500 prizes.
