Caroline County resident claims top prize on 10x Cash scratch-off
An enthusiastic Maryland Lottery player who repairs restaurant equipment for a living just mended his win-loss record.
David Blottenberger of Marydel, who buys scratch-offs on a daily basis, is the latest $10,000 top-prize winner on the popular 10x Cash ticket. The 63-year-old Caroline County resident bought three 10x Cash scratch-offs last week at the Quick Mart located at 900 West Street in Annapolis. The first two tickets he scratched didn’t yield prizes, but the third one gave the loyal Lottery player his largest scratch-off win.
“I’ve played for a long time and never won this big,” David said. “I like [10x Cash] because there’s so many $10,000 prizes. I’ve won $50 or $100. And, I’ve won $500 a couple of times on other tickets, but never this big (a prize).”
The self-employed repairman said he doesn’t have any special plans yet for his prize. “There’s nothing I really need,” he said. “I’ll probably just sit on it.”
If you want to try your luck with the 10x Cash game, there are still plenty of prizes waiting to be found at Lottery retailers across the state. The $10 game, which launched in March, still has 53 $10,000 top-prize tickets that have not yet been claimed, along with 31 $1,000-winning tickets.
