Retired Banker Buys Winning Multi-Match Ticket

Baltimore County Woman Takes Cash Option on $775,000 Jackpot

A retired banker has a substantial deposit to make because she followed through on a whim to buy a Maryland Lottery Multi-Match ticket.

The impulse to play a Lottery game hit while the Baltimore County resident was going for a walk around a neighborhood track. Deciding to act on the thought, the loyal Lottery player headed to a Lottery retailer in Randallstown. She entered and quickly felt drawn to the Multi-Match game, so she bought a ticket for the April 14 drawing. Guess who hit the $775,000 jackpot! Our happy winner took the cash option of $525,000 on the top-tier prize win.

“This is a blessing,” she said, explaining that she cares for her ailing husband. “It’s amazing to be able to have money to do what you’d like to do for loved ones.”

Typically, she plays Lottery games on Fridays. The Pikesville resident usually buys two Mega Millions tickets, two Powerball tickets and two Bonus Match 5 tickets. She also enjoys playing scratch-offs, particularly Sweethearts and other $2 and $3 instant tickets. She rarely plays Multi-Match, however!

When she checked her ticket, the lucky lady saw that it matched the winning numbers. The 62-year-old remained cautious. She verified her win online at mdlottery.com and then began dancing around the room! After a quick song and dance, she immediately signed her ticket and placed it in her wallet.

Our winner shared news of her good fortune with her husband of more than 40 years but not her sons. They each will receive a monetary gift but not news of the win!

She found her Lottery luck at Pimlico Check Cashing located at 3538 Brenbrook Drive in Randallstown.
