Baltimore man wins $50,000 prize on Million Dollar Spectacular scratch-off ticket
There was no strategy or method for a retired Baltimore man who is now $50,000 richer after randomly picking a winning scratch-off ticket.
He was with his driver at Green Ace Hardware, located at 1901 West Lafayette Avenue in Baltimore, and was in a hurry when he picked the first scratch-off ticket he saw, which happened to be a $20 Million Dollar Spectacular.
The 79-year-old scratched his ticket immediately after buying it and had his driver review it to confirm that it was a winner.
“I was very excited,” said the lucky winner, who then had his driver quickly make a trip to Lottery headquarters to claim the prize.
This isn’t the first rodeo for the retired Baltimore City employee. He won a $10,000 prize a few years ago on another Maryland Lottery scratch-off. He has no plans for his most recent winnings other than depositing them into his bank account. The Baltimore man has two sons and several grandchildren who he had hadn’t yet informed of his big win.
The Million Dollar Spectacular ticket launched in December, and two of its $1 million top prizes are still waiting to be claimed. There are also five $50,000 prizes and 24 $10,000 prizes remaining. If you’re feeling lucky, visit your local retailers and purchase your tickets.
