The 72-year-old Harford County resident won $60 on a couple of scratch-off tickets Friday morning and decided to make just one more purchase.
“I bought two tickets and I won $50 on one ticket and $10 on the other and I said, ‘Let me take this $10 and get one more,’ ” she recalled. That “one more” was a $10 Win It All ticket. And the decision to buy it turned out to be life changing.
“I couldn’t believe it,” the mother of three said of the moment she realized that her ticket was a big winner. “I just couldn’t believe it.”
The loyal Lottery player buys scratch-off tickets every week.
“I like the excitement and the money,” she said with a smile.
This was by far her biggest win, although the lucky woman did take home two $1,000 scratch-off prizes several years ago. The grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of five said she plans to use her prize to pay for home improvement projects, most notably new floors and a new roof.
She was the first winner of a top prize on Win It All, which launched on July 27. There are still three more $100,000 top prizes waiting to be found at Lottery retailers across the state. The game also has 10 $10,000 prizes.
Our lucky winner purchased her Win It All ticket at Klein’s Shoprite #548 located at 949 Beards Hill Road in Aberdeen. The retailer is also a winner; the store will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize ticket.
