Retiree Shocked Over The Price is Right® Scratch-off Win

Claims first $50,000 prize on $10 game

Come on down! A Washington County woman came east to Maryland Lottery headquarters this week to claim her $50,000 prize on The Price is Right® scratch-off game. The 70-year-old told Lottery officials that the shock of her big win still hasn’t worn off.

“I was happy when I saw the five matches, but I figured that they were $5 and $10 wins,” she admitted. “When I scratched off the prize amounts, I just couldn’t believe my eyes. I just stood there, I couldn’t move.”

Sure that she was wrong, the retired state employee asked the clerk at the Keedysville Country Store in Keedysville to check her $10 instant ticket. “He printed out the prize and there it was, $50,000,” said the Boonsboro resident. “I shook my head and said, ‘No, no, no.’ That’s how much I didn’t believe that it happened to me.”

Our first big The Price is Right® winner will add her $50,000 prize to her savings. “I have some health concerns and was worried about the small cushion I had in the bank. This large cushion will make things much easier.” If you’re in Washington County, stop by and visit her favorite Lottery retailer at 19409 Shepherdstown Pike in Keedysville.

The Price is Right® scratch-off game launched on April 22, 2019. There are still all 12 $100,000 top prizes remaining and 15 more $50,000 prizes waiting to be found at Lottery retailers across the state. If you have a non-winning The Price is Right® scratch-off, make sure you enter it into the second-chance promotion for a chance to win up to $100,000. For details, visit mdlottery.com/thepriceisright.
