Claim top prize on Bingo Multiplier game
A pair of childhood sweethearts reunited after 40 years already knew they were lucky in love. Now, they’re lucky Maryland Lottery players, too! The Pikesville husband and wife just claimed a $50,000 scratch-off prize on the Bingo Multiplier game.
The 65-year-old husband loves the Lottery’s bingo scratch-offs, especially the $5 games with multipliers. “That’s about all I play,” he said. The Pikesville building manager visits his favorite Lottery retailer, Milford Liquors in Windsor Mill, about three times a week. “He’s very particular about the store,” said his wife of three years.
On the lucky Saturday he found his winning ticket, the loyal player first visited a different retailer only to discover they were not yet open. So, he continued on to Milford Liquors and bought a $5 Bingo Multiplier game. “I was at the right place at the right time,” he said.
The Baltimore County resident always brings the instant tickets home to scratch off while sitting at his “special table,” said his wife. She wasn’t home at the time of the great reveal and received multiple phone calls as he tried to figure out if he’d won $10,000 or $50,000.
“He must have called me 50,000 times,” she said. As soon as she arrived home, they reviewed the ticket together and determined he had a top-prize winner on his hands. He hid the scratch-off in their wedding album beside a candid photo of his bride weeping tears of joy.
“We’ve been blessed since we got back together,” said the winner. He took his wife to their junior prom before life sent them in different directions. She was living in another state when he called a few years ago and asked her for a date. The rest is history, as is their big win!
“It’s just sinking in now that we’re here,” said the mother of one and grandmother of two. The lucky lady gets to decide how they will spend the prize, the winner said.
He plans to keep playing bingo scratch-offs and is enjoying a bit of a winning streak. “I keep on winning,” he said. “I won $50 yesterday. Since I hit this I’ve won $50 three times!”
Also a winner is the Baltimore County Lottery retailer. Milford Liquors, located at 8100 Liberty Road, will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize scratch-off.
