“I used family birthdays,” the excited winner told Lottery officials when asked how she chose her lucky numbers. When asked about her reaction upon realizing that she’d won, she told us, “I didn’t really react at all. I guess I didn’t really believe it was real.” After checking the winning numbers several more times, she shared the news with her fiancé. She told him, “We have to go to Lottery headquarters right now.” Her surprise grew when she learned about a Lottery promotion that covered the taxes on her win. “That made the whole thing even better, even more exciting.”
