A fencing company employee and scratch-off fan, the lucky dad has previously won $200 and $300 prizes. But capturing the third of Instant Keno’s four top prizes put him into shock, he said. The 38-year-old often visits Spartans Liquor & Deli in Beltsville to buy sodas, snacks and a scratch-off or two on his way to or from work. On the day of his big win, the loyal player purchased two scratch-offs and took them to the car to play. He bought two different games but only the $3 Instant Keno scratch-off delivered a win.

“I thought I was going to pass out from the shock,” he said of his win. “I thank God for it.” The happy man came to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim his prize accompanied by his family, his sister and brother-in-law.

For selling a top-prize scratch-off in the Instant Keno game, the lucky Lottery retailer is also a winner. Spartans Liquor & Deli, located at 11421 Old Baltimore Pike, receives a $300 bonus from the Lottery for the sale.
