Claims $100,000 top prize on Winter Cash Tripler scratch-off
The holidays came early for a grateful Eastern Shore resident, who enjoyed a $100,000 “Surprise Win” courtesy of Lady Luck.
The 54-year-old Rock Hall man visited his local Shore Stop #221 and took home his largest Lottery payday ever. A $10 winning scratch-off was the catalyst for his visit. Instead of cashing the winning instant ticket, the Kent County man exchanged it for the first $10 holiday-themed instant ticket he saw. That scratch-off, the Winter Cash Tripler, contained his $100,000 top prize.
The lucky player scratched the instant ticket off in his car and went into shock after revealing the prize. “I was so surprised, I had to stay calm so that I could drive,” he said.
The happy player, who nicknamed his windfall “Surprise Win,” has shared news of his exciting good fortune with only a few close family members. His top-prize win came at a great time, according to the engineering contractor. He was laid off several years ago and the prize is a great financial help. After paying off bills, he plans to use the funds to boost his savings and continue taking care of his two beloved dogs.
The Rock Hall Shore Stop #221 located at 21340 Rock Hall Avenue can also celebrate. The Kent County business receives a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off. There are still four unclaimed $100,000 top prizes remaining on this instant ticket as well as 19 $10,000 prizes.
