Rockville Handyman Finds All The Money

Rockville’s “Lucky Chepito” celebrates his $100,000 top-prize All The Money scratch-off win.

$100,000 top-prize scratch-off win provides great relief

A Montgomery County man has played Maryland Lottery games for a long time, he told Lottery officials, always hoping for but never really expecting a big win. His hopes were first dashed and then realized last weekend when the loyal player selected the right instant ticket from the right location at the right time to win $100,000!

Sunday found the 65-year-old handyman in Silver Spring looking for a cold drink to fend off the heat that plagued Maryland during the Memorial Day weekend. A 7-Eleven came into view and, after picking out his soda, the Rockville man dubbed “Lucky Chepito” by friends visited the store’s scratch-off display.

“I try just about every game I see at least once,” he said. “All The Money was the first one I saw that I hadn’t played.”

Scratching off his $10 instant ticket in the store, “Lucky Chepito” was disappointed to find only one match. His mood quickly changed, however, when he saw that single match’s corresponding prize. “I was very calm, didn’t move a bit,” he said. “Inside, I couldn’t believe it. $100,000! I never imagined that I’d ever see this kind of money.”

Almost equal to the shock that his All The Money top-prize win delivered was a sense of relief, the winner reports. “Many of my biggest worries and my family and friends’ biggest worries are about money. My worries are less now and maybe I can help some of them through tough times.”

“Lucky Chepito” found his $100,000 winner at 7-Eleven #23696 located at 650 E. University Boulevard in Silver Spring. For selling the top-prize scratch-off in the game, the convenience store earns a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.

All The Money went on sale around the state in September 2018. Three $100,000 top prizes and seven $10,000 prizes remain in circulation. Players can also search for hundreds of thousands of other prizes ranging from $10 to $1,000.
